Roof Structure Repair

From minor rafter fixes to full roof reframing, we repair and reinforce roof structures to protect your home from the top down.

01 · The Service

Roof structure repaired before the damage reaches everything below.

A compromised roof structure is not a problem that stays in the attic. Water infiltration follows failed or damaged rafters downward through insulation, sheathing, ceiling finishes, and walls. What begins as a structural issue in the roof becomes a cascade of interior damage if it isn’t addressed at the source. The longer a damaged roof structure is left unrepaired, the more expensive the full scope of restoration becomes.

We repair roof structures by assessing the full extent of the damage before any repair begins. A single failed rafter is rarely the only problem — adjacent members are often compromised, sheathing is frequently water-damaged, and ridge boards, hip rafters, and valley members sometimes need attention that isn’t visible from a surface inspection. We assess the full picture and scope the repair accordingly.

Our roof structure repair work covers sistered rafter repairs for cracked or damaged members, full rafter replacement where damage is too extensive to sister, ridge board and structural ridge beam repairs, hip and valley rafter repairs, roof sheathing replacement over damaged areas, and full roof reframing where the existing structure is beyond repair or needs to be upgraded to current code.

When we finish, the roof structure is sound, the sheathing is solid, and the roofing trade has a true, stable deck to work from.

What's included.

L

Drawing Review

Full roof structure assessment before any repair begins — rafter condition, sheathing integrity, ridge and hip members, and extent of water or rot damage all evaluated and documented.

L

Foundation Framing

Rafter sistering for cracked, split, or partially damaged rafters — new members installed alongside existing rafters and fastened to restore full structural capacity.

L

Floor Systems

Full rafter replacement where damage is too extensive to sister — failed members removed and replaced with new rafters sized and cut to match the existing roof geometry.

L

Wall Framing

Ridge board and structural ridge beam repair or replacement where the primary roof structure has failed, sagged, or been compromised by water or rot.

L

Roof Structure

Hip and valley rafter repair or replacement where complex roof intersections have been damaged — geometry re-established and new members cut to match the existing roof lines.

L

Structural Steel Integration

Roof sheathing replacement over damaged areas — compromised panels removed and replaced with new sheathing nailed to schedule, ready for roofing underlayment.

L

Sheathing

Full roof reframing where the existing structure is beyond repair, undersized for current loads, or needs to be upgraded to meet current Ontario Building Code requirements.

L

Inspection Hand-off

Building permit framing inspections coordinated where required. We remain on site until all structural sign-offs are complete.

L

Site Clean-up

All damaged framing, sheathing material, and site waste removed before we leave. Clean deck handed off ready for the roofing trade.

03 · How It Works

Our process.

01

Roof Structure Assessment

We assess the full roof structure before we quote — not just the visible damage. Rafter condition, sheathing integrity, ridge and hip members, and the extent of any water infiltration or rot are all evaluated and documented. The repair scope is based on the full picture, not on what’s easiest to see from below.

02

Estimate & Repair Plan

You receive a clear scope and price based on the assessment findings. We sequence the repair to coordinate with your roofing contractor — structure repaired and sheathing replaced before the roofing trade arrives, so the project moves forward without delay.

03

Structural Roof Repair

We execute the repair in the correct structural sequence — primary structure first, then rafters, then sheathing. Every repair is made to the structural standard the roof requires, and every cut is made to match the existing geometry so the roofing trade inherits a true, consistent deck.

04

Inspection & Hand-off

We coordinate any required building permit framing inspections and remain on site until sign-off is complete. The repaired roof structure is handed off sheathed, structurally sound, and ready for your roofing contractor to begin.
