Outdoor framing fails for one reason above all others: it wasn’t built for the environment it was placed in. Untreated lumber rots. Undersized posts settle and lean. Inadequate connections loosen under seasonal movement. Ledger boards attached incorrectly pull away from the house. What looks fine at the end of the build reveals its problems two or three winters later — when the deck bounces, the posts are soft, and the ledger has opened a gap in the exterior wall.

We build and repair outdoor structures with weather resistance and structural integrity as the starting point, not an afterthought. Every material selection, connection detail, and post sizing decision is made with the Ontario climate in mind — freeze-thaw cycles, snow loads, wind uplift, and long-term moisture exposure.

Our outdoor framing scope covers new deck builds, porch framing and reconstruction, gazebo framing and post systems, pergola structural framing, ledger board repair and replacement, post and beam repair for settled or rotted structures, and full deck rebuilds where the existing structure is beyond repair. We work from your drawings and permit documents, and we build to current Ontario Building Code standards for exterior structures.

When we finish, the structure is solid, the connections are made correctly, and the decking, roofing, and finish trades have a frame worth working from.

Footing and post installation for new builds — post sizing, spacing, and footing depth confirmed to current Ontario Building Code requirements for exterior structures and snow loads.

Beam and joist framing for deck and porch structures — member sizing, spacing, and span confirmed to structural requirements and nailed to schedule.

Wall Framing

Ledger board installation and attachment to the existing house structure — flashing detail, fastener pattern, and connection method executed to prevent water infiltration and long-term separation.

Roof Structure

Gazebo and pergola post and beam framing — post bases, beam connections, and roof framing built to the structural drawings and to current code for wind uplift and snow load.

Structural Steel Integration

Post and beam repair for settled, leaning, or rotted members — existing failed posts and beams replaced with correctly sized pressure-treated or engineered lumber.

Sheathing

Ledger board repair and replacement where existing ledger attachment has failed or created water infiltration at the house wall — correctly detailed and flashed to prevent recurrence.

Inspection Hand-off

Building permit framing inspections coordinated where required. We remain on site until all structural sign-offs are complete.

Site Clean-up

All old framing, demolished material, and site waste removed before we leave. Clean structure handed off ready for decking, roofing, and finish trades.

Site Assessment & Drawing Review

We assess the existing site conditions and review your permit drawings before we begin. For repair work, we evaluate the full structure — not just the visible problem — so the repair scope addresses the actual structural condition. For new builds, we confirm footing locations, post spacing, and ledger attachment details before any material is ordered.

Estimate & Build Plan

You receive a clear scope and price. We sequence the build or repair to coordinate with your decking, roofing, and finish trades — so the structure is handed off at the right point in the project and the outdoor space comes together without delays between trades.

Weather-Resistant Structural Framing

We build outdoor structures from the ground up — footings, posts, beams, joists, and ledger connections all executed to code and to the standard the Ontario climate demands. Every connection is made correctly. Every post is sized for the load. Every ledger is flashed to prevent water infiltration.

Inspection & Hand-off

We coordinate any required building permit framing inspections and remain on site until sign-off is complete. The completed structure is handed off clean, structurally sound, and ready for your decking, roofing, and finish trades to begin.
